Aloha!

Aloha!

Thanks for stopping by.

What’s the idea?

Many people feel closest to God when they feel closest to nature.  It’s just as true for those who don’t spend much time around churches or organised religion.  People may not articulate it in those words, but there is something awe-inspiring and breath-taking in being in the midst of the great outdoors - removing the layers of separation.  Whether that is hill walking or walking the dog;  snowboarding or boarding a boat; cycling or recycling…often being away from the demands of the everyday routine take our minds to other places…

For some of us the sea is deeply meaningful.  There is something about love vast as an ocean.  In a big way it makes us feel very small.  There is something invigorating, something cleansing.  There is something about deep calling to deep.  There is something about footprints in the sand…

Surfing is often described as being “spiritual” or having ”soul”.  In Scotland we are the scattered few.  Many of us are separated by geography and, yet, somehow linked.  Our aim is to live our lives transparently in the beach communities we may be a part of and to invite others to join us.  The overarching hope would be that people will see that larger than our love of the sea is our love for Jesus and God’s love for them – not by seeing people as projects, but just as and when these themes prop up in our everyday conversations through the natural relationships that exist and which develop.

Where might God be working in this?

On the beach, in the car trips to and from the beach, in the cafe after a surf session, on the internet.

Who is behind this?

A small number of Christian surfers spread throughout Scotland.  We are working in partnership with our local churches and Christian Surfers UK.  Please use the various tabs on the right hand side to find out more.

Want to get involved or find out more?

Please feel free to use the “contact” tab at the top of this page.

Stay stoked.
